Hello All,
Is it possible to obtain information on final state effect in
photoemission from WIEN2k calculations (shifts in binding energies)?
Let me explain: intial state of photoemission is (in simplest view
everybody is using) a ground state of the system, in WIEN2k this system is
e.g. a slab. Final state of photoemission is the same slab but lacking one
electron.
The goal is to get initial state binding energies from the photoemission
data. Its not trivial, maybe WIEN2k could help getting some estimations. I
am talking about core levels, in valence band 'screening of the photohole
is almost perfect and therefore the final state energy equals the initial
state one-electron energy' (Huefner 'Photoelectron Spectroscopy',
Springer, 1996).
Please comment - and possibly give some hint...
Regards,
Lukasz
