Dear users,
the following letter comes from the IT associate in our department.the
problem I encountered may be because of the 32 bit-compiler in my
computer. have you had such problem and how to solve it. sorry for using
your time to read this long letter.

Maybe.
It will take a lot of work.
I suspect we will need to erase argos and re-install an optimized Linux
(Suse or Fedora Core) that is 64 bit enabled.
Then we should try the brand new Intel compiler that will compile for 64
bit Xeon processors - I've seen reports that that will work for Opterons
or
We can purchase PathScale Compiler for Linux on Opteron for $800.
or
We can purchase Portland Group Compiler for Linux on Opteron for $920.
Please, first, ask the developers if anyone has experience in compiling
Wien2k_05 on Linux for Opteron in 64 bit, and what compilers and
operating systems they used.
Specifically, if anyone has used the "em64t enabled" 8.1 version of the
Intel Compilers, or if the PathScale or Portland compilers are better
choices.
I suspect that if we use 64 bit Suse Linux, and install the new Intel
version 8.1 "em64t enabled" compilers, along with the AMD Opteron Math
Kernal Libraries from AMD, we will get 64 bit - but it will take two to
three weeks, and a lot of emails with the developers, as they do not
include these as standard options in their setup.
