The "What manual page do you want?" is most likely a message
automatically created by the operating system upon login (rsh/ssh) to
the other machines. This is then put into the dayfile through some
redirection of output in the parallel program? 

This autogenerated greeting is installed as default on our SuSE Linux
installation.
