Hello,
some ideas :
* send us your .machines file and the exact command used to launch the job, so we can make sure there are no errors there
* check the configuration of wien :
is use_remote set to 1 in $WIENROOT/parallel_options?
grep "set remote" $WIENROOT/lapw1para
* try to find out what wien actually does :
in lapw1para, change the first line to #! /bin/csh -xf
catch the output and grep it for ssh, rsh, mpi instructions
* try a similar command from the command line and see what it does, eg.
(rsh node-05 "cd /myworkdir ; time lapw1 lapw1_5.def ; rm lockfile; " ) > .time_5
Good luck!

Onderwerp: [Wien] parallel calculation
Dear Wien users:
We encounted some problems with parallel calculation. We read the Guide and have set up remote login, both in ssh and rsh. In our personal account, we can login to each other without providing passwords, thorough public keys or .rhosots files in bash shell. But in Wien2k, we can not make remote connection, even if it is on the same host. Any body can help us solve this problems?
We use SuSE Linus Enterprise Server 9.0 (64 bits) as operation system, and PGI 5.1 as compiler.
Wien2k version is Wien2k_05.
Many thanks in advance!
Yousong Gu
