Dear WIEN2k users,

Over the last years we have developed an infrastructure called W2Grid,
which should simplify running (parallel) WIEN2k jobs on distributed resources.

It should be of particular interest to WIEN2k users which are running their
jobs on many different compute platforms and thus have to monitor several
systems or transfer data frequently from one computer to the next.

The basic idea of W2Grid is:
      - You submit a WIEN2k-job from your local workstation
      - it will automatically determine the best (free) compute resource,
      - transfer the required files
      - runs the job on the remote machine
      - allows to monitor the calculation locally
      - transfers all data back when finished.

W2Grid is a middleware, which is independet from WIEN2k, and thus can
be safely added or removed, in case it does not work as desired.
WIEN2k will not be modified by it but some minor changes had to
be made to the WIEN2k source code in order to deliver proper
job-informations. Therefore a release of WIEN2k_07.3 or higher is needed.

The W2Grid sources, info, and documentation are freely available at

                      http://www.w2grid.at

At present it is in a beta-release state. Please join the W2Grid-mailinglist
(http://zeus.theochem.tuwien.ac.at/mailman/listinfo/w2gridmail) and post
comments, questions or recommendations there.

Have fun and good luck
