Associate Director of the Materials Simulation Center
The Materials Simulation Center at Penn State is looking for an
Associate Director. The Center is a University-wide facility, supported
by the Materials Research Institute, dedicated to promoting and
facilitating the use of computer simulations in Materials
Science,Physics, and Chemistry. The successful candidate will have a
Ph.D. in any of these or related disciplines. Post doctoral experience
is desirable but not required. The Associate Director will be
responsible for simulation tools setup, and development of outreach
activities and support of advanced users. Experience is required with
quantum chemical calculations including Density Functional Theory,
molecular simulations such us molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo, and
code development on parallel architectures. MSC has close collaboration
with the High-Performance Computing group at Penn State`s Information
Technology Services. The mission of the Materials Simulation Center is
to provide support, education and increase the visibility of the
materials simulation activities at Penn State and beyond. THIS IS A
FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT FUNDED FOR ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF HIRE WITH GOOD
