[Wien] sh: line 22: /root/wien2k/x: Permission denied

cd $WIENROOT

ls -alsp x*

You should "see" that   x   is a "link" to   x_lapw

and x_lapw   must have "rwx" permissions (at the beginning of the line)
for owner and group, "r-x" for others.

If this is not the case, you can change it using

chmod ug+rwx x_lapw
chmod o+rx x_lapw


PS: There were some questions and hints about the different endings of MS-windows
and Linux text files.
Under Linux there is a    dos2unix  utility, which does the conversion.
