[Wien] PhD position in Vienna with Prof. G. Madsen

At the Institute for Materials Chemistry (Subject area: Theoretical
Chemistry) at the Technical University Vienna the following position is
announced:
A position for an university assistant (Ph.D. Student). Expected
duration is from the 1st of Febuary 2017 until 31. Januar 2021.
Payment group B1 with a 25 hours/week employment. The monthly minimum
pay for the payment group is presently EUR brutto 1.685,30 (14 times a
year). Depending on relevant earlier experience the payment can be higher.
Acceptance criteria: Candidates are required to hold an appropriate
degree (Magister-, Diplom- or MSc) in Chemistry, Physics, Materials
Science or a related discipline.
Further qualifications: The successful candidate will develop and apply
methods within the density functional theory for the study of functional
defects in semi-conductors. We expect excellent grades, good
communication skills in English and a willingness to travel to
collaborators worldwide. An interest in Quantum Chemistry and learning
programming for high performance computing are an advantage.
