As by itself, without any context, it seems to be rather useless

Hmm, the lower the negative energy the higher its absolute value, seems to be mathematically correct
|-5| > |-4|, isn't it.

Ciao

Betreff: [Wien] Exchange energy

Dear all,

Anybody could kindly explain me what below sentence means and how it could be true?

"Any gain in the d-p orbitals bond energy is accompanied by a loss in absolute value of exchange energy."

Thanks,
Alex
