<p>Bulk gold is diamagnetic and it exhibits a tiny Pauli and Orbital
paramagnetic state. <br>
</p>
<p>Pauli paramagnetism is due to the non-zero density at the Fermi
level (metal) and the orbital paramagnetism to the presence of
unpaired electrons.</p>
