The Department of Physics, Baylor University, invites applications for
tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level to begin by August,
2006.  The successful candidates should hold the Ph.D. degree, be committed
to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and
will be expected to direct graduate student research in a research program
developed by the applicant.  Current areas of departmental research include
experimental and theoretical surface physics, experimental and theoretical
astrophysics, experimental and theoretical dusty plasma physics,
experimental atomic and molecular physics, elementary particle physics,
early universe cosmology and string/M theory. Applicants should send a
curriculum vitae, including a list of refereed papers published and
submitted, a brief essay describing his/her teaching interest and
philosophy, research interests and proposed research program to be carried
out at Baylor, and the names and addresses of three references.  For further
information, address inquiries to Chair, Search Committee, Department of
Physics, Baylor University, Waco, Texas 76798-7316. Applications will be
accepted until the positions are filled.  To ensure full consideration for
the position you should complete your application by November 1, 2005.
