[Wien] LAPW1 ERROR

Dear WIEN2k users:

I am running WIEN2k_05.3 on a Pentium IV 3.4 GHz PC, with 2 GB RAM. The 
operating system is Suse 9.2.  I am not compling the code, just using the 
executables instead. When trying to run one of the examples in the User's 
Guide, fcc  Ni, the SCF calculation stops in the first cycle with an LAPW1 
error. There appears an uplapw.error file with the following message:

'INILPW' - can't open unit: 10
  'INILPW' -        filename: 
/scratch/fcc_Ni.vectorup
  'INILPW' -          status: unknown      form: 
unformatted
  'LAPW1' - INILPW aborted unsuccessfully.

I have thoroughly searched the mailing list, both through the Google tool 
in the WIEN2k web page and manually reading the threads, but i haven´t 
found any solution to this particular problem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
