You probably need to add the option "-m32" to the compiler CFLAGS (either
globally through siteconfig_lapw or directly in the Makefile of e.g. lapw0
for testing). This should tell the C compiler to generate a 32bit cputim.o
suitable for linking with the other 32bit stuff, even though it "knows" that
it is on a 64bit system.
