client-side mount options are probably just as important - in particular
things like "noac" to avoid caching of file attributes, and tcp vs. udp
as the underlying transport mode (tcp should be more reliable at least in
theory, unless you have a really old server (early 2.4 kernels, e.g. SuSE 7.2)
that happily agrees to use tcp although it barely knows how to do it.
Depending on your network, udp may be reliable and a bit faster than tcp.)
