[Wien] installation problem

My Ubuntu version is actually 8.10, which seems to be quite buggy regarding a number of things (network manager, sound management,...). I've tried to run the test_case in my laptop (dual core, 32-bits, also Ubuntu 8.10) with a Wien2k installation working perfectly in the serial version (as is the case with my desktop, by the way). With k-point parallelization I get the same errors as posted in the threads:

I was considering to reinstall Wien2k from scratch. Since I verified the problem in a 64-bit and a 32-bit system architecture, I'm not sure this will suffice. I was thinking of going back to Ubuntu 8.04, as another option. Since Mohit has trouble with this version as well, I'm not sure either. And I don't think the solution would be to go further back to Ubuntu 7.10...Has someone experienced similar problems with any other linux distro?

Roberto
