Hello Antonio,
optical properties of material means in general its dielectric function (having real and complex parts). Alternatively, you can describe them by material refractive index and extinction coefficient. These quantities are energy (wavelength) dependent and determine how much of the incident light is reflected, transmitted and absorbed.

Best,
Lenka
