Youre Linker switches are wrong !
LDFLAGS:-L/opt/intel/mkl/8.0/lib/32 -Vaxlib -static-libcxa -pthread will not work with ifort 9.0 and mkl 8.0

-Vaxlib -static-libcxa are not switches for ifort 9.0

libxx has always zo be used as -lxxx such that it is:
-lpthread

probably you need also libvml, check the linker output and my posting from last year about how to compile Wien2k with ifort 9.0.

    Sorry, I forget to say what compiler I used, I used the ifort 9.0 and gcc 3.4.2( based on the recommendation of  siteconfig_lapw), MKL 8.0, the options is:


current:FOPT:-FR -mp1 -w -prec_div -pc80 -pad -ip -DINTEL_VML
current:FPOPT:-FR -mp1 -w -prec_div -pc80 -pad -ip -DINTEL_VML
current:LDFLAGS:-L/opt/intel/mkl/8.0/lib/32 -Vaxlib -static-libcxa -pthread
current:DPARALLEL:'-DParallel'
current:R_LIBS:-lmkl_lapack -lmkl_ia32 -lguide

  I experience actually a segmentation fault, too. It is strange because it appears only on an US-english SUSE 9.2 version, whereas it runs on an identical computer with German SUSE 9.2, I suspect that one of the Linux libraries is incompatible but could not figure out yet which one.

  The problem is that the SIGSEGV is serious, even traceback does not work for whatever reason.

      I have a strange problem as I used Wien2k. Recently I upgraded the Wien to 05.6 version in Fedora core 3 LInux, as I run test_case, there appear an error message:

      forrtl: severe (174): SIGSEGV, segmentation fault occurred 

  Stack trace terminated abnormally. 
  59.597u 3.296s 1:02.89 99.9%    0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w       

  **** 

  My computer is  two  Xeon 3.2 cpu with 4GB ram, the kernel 2.6.9smp,and I already setted stack to unlimited. 



  Any suggestions are appreciated, and thanks a lots in advance.
