Roberto,

That error occurs in a script that tries to reformat the "computation time"
message that usually appears after a successful run. Your actual error is
still that lapw1 does not run correctly on your system.
A classic problem to look out for is that the (spanish) language environment
may confuse one of the programs and tools involved. Could you try entering
"export LANG=C" before starting lapw1cpara to see if that changes anything ?
Next, you could check if there are any Ubuntu updates for csh (which
probably is actually tcsh linked to /bin/csh). lapw1cpara is a csh shell
script, and I vaguely remember seeing reports of a broken tcsh version
causing problems on this list a while back. (The strange issue of your
jobs starting to run only after you log out somehow suggests that lapw1
might be trying to read some information from standard input, i.e. your
keyboard, instead of its files)
Hope this helps
Martin
